A couple of weeks ago we reported about Banda businessmen’s move to hike one of Kyambogo’s most consumed fast foods, chapattis, from 500/= to 700/=. Well, our snoops inside the Banda based campus have informed us that Kyambogo students refused to consume what they termed as “expensive chapattis”.
More details indicate that Kyambogo students purposely refused to consume both rolex and Kikomando for some days at the beginning of the semester. This later froze Banda’s business speeds which later forced the retailers to sit and fix their pricing on chapattis.
At the moment, Kyambogo students are over the moon for the reduced affordable prices as they can buy their favorite delicacy at 500/- like it has been for the past years.
It should be noted that other students from different Universities around the city consume chapattis as well, but Kyambogo’s consumption is on another level, something that earlier pushed retailers to hike the prices before facing the backlash.
