The Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) to Uganda, Her Excellency Natalie E Brown has challenged the students of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) to explore and use several opportunities if they want to be productive citizens in their respective communities.
Her Excellency Natalie E Brown made the remarks today, Wednesday, 2nd March, 2022 during her visit at IUIU Main Campus in Mbale City.
The Ambassador advised the students to utilize opportunities offered by the United States of America such as Fulbright Foreign Student Program , Young African Leaders Initiative and Mandela Washington Fellowship.
“The United States of America offers these programs to prepare young Africans become key players in social economic development of their countries,” Ambassador Brown said.
The diplomat said the United States is committed to continue supporting several areas including the education and health sectors in Uganda.
In his remarks, the Rector of IUIU Professor Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda commended Ambassador Brown for the visit.
Professor Gyagenda said IUIU is committed to partnering with the US Embassy in Uganda to continue providing quality education.
The Rector commended the Embassy for donating first equipment that was used to set up 93.1 IUIU FM at the Main Campus in Mbale City.
The Ambassador accompanied by IUIU top administrators visited and appreciated the State-of-Art library under construction, Computer Laboratories and 93.1 IUIU FM studios.
