Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) is in plans of constructing it’s main campus on it’s newly acquired land in Matugga. The land has a total of 20.43 acres which is located on Block 82 Plot 6 Kkungu, Matugga Wakiso district. The land was acquired on a lease of 49 years from the Church.
This was revealed by Chairperson Board of Directors Prof Venusius Baryamureeba, on the recently concluded orientation ceremony of new entrants for the January 2020 intake. Prof Baryamureeba also thanked the Catholic Archdiocese for partnering with the University to make sure that the construction of the main campus goes on well.
Construction of the main campus is set to start this year and by 2021 it will be done and ready to be used by the students and the public.Newly admitted students were also promised to have a tour to the acquired land on the University celebrations this year.
Prof Baryamureeba also explained that when the main campus is fully constructed, It will house the biggest research and innovation city in Uganda and in the whole of East African region which will help researchers do their work easily.
