The none teaching stuffs from all public universities have threatened to resort to industrial action if their salary disparities are not resolved by the end of this academic year.
Under budget framework papers 2015/2016, 50 billion was dedicated for enhancement of salaries for the teaching stuff neglecting the none teaching stuffs.
These under their umbrella body of Public Universities Non-Teaching Stuff Executive Forum have petitioned the parliamentary committee on public service asking for urgent harmonization of their salaries.
According to the head of delegation Jackson Betihama, all university stuff are paid using the same salary scale, thus it’s improper for government to consider only one side.
He explained that now the government will require 37 billion Uganda shillings to harmonies their salaries.
