Victoria University Becomes 11th Private Chartered University

Victoria University Kampala has been granted a charter, becoming the 11th private charted university in Uganda.

National Council for Higher Education handed over the charter to Victoria University on August 19th, 2022.

To Victoria University, the charter means that it can now offer graduate, masters and doctorate programs.

Dr Lawrence Muganga, the vice chancellor at Victoria University thanked President Museveni for accepting to grant Victoria University a charter.

According to the Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act, a charter is granted by the president as evidence that the university meets the requirements and standards of academic excellence set by the NCHE.

Victoria University has now become the 11th private charted university in Uganda.

Other private chartered universities include; Nkumba University, IUIU Mbale campus, UCU, Uganda Martyrs Nkozi, Ndejje university, Kabale University, KIU, Bugema Adventist University and Mountain of the moon University.
