After MUBS student, Julie Nambatya, died in a boat cruise in Jinja on the weekend, the deceased’s father identified as Haman Mpanga has reacted to circumstances surrounding the daughter’s death.
In an interview with Spark TV, Mpanga is still puzzled and confused as to why they failed to save his daughter’s life yet she was the first to be pulled out of the lake. ”If they pulled her out in a terrible condition, why wasn’t she offered treatment first thing? And if she was the first to be rescued, how come she was the one who died? And another thing, how come she was naked with an open life jacket?” Mpanga questioned circumstances in which his daughter breathed her last.
Mpanga went ahead to reveal that Nambatya did not clearly state where she was going despite the fact that she was officially permitted to go, “she didn’t mention that she was going with a group, she only said that she was going with a friend” Mpanga revealed.
Nambatya went with her three other friends to Jinja, Bujjagali over the weekend where she lost her life after drowning. According to Juma Mukisa, the dude who rescued the survivors, the boat capsized after a heavy wave hit the boat following a strong storm. Juma adds that he tried all he can to save Julie Nambatya’s life and continues to wonder how she died yet she had her life jacket on.
