Uganda Christian University (UCU) politics took a plot twist when famous Nigerian Actor turned Politician Desmond Elliot took off some time to record a short clip in which he endorsed one of the Guild Presidential Aspirants, Timothy Kadaga as the perfect candidate for the stated position.
Popular movies like Married to the Enemy, Strange Love, Secret Pain and Guilty Pleasures, Desmond Elliot who also doubles as the Member of Parliament for Surulere Constituency is seen endorsing candidate Timothy Kadaga whom he refers to as “Timo.”
In this short clip, Desmond Elliot is heard referring to Timothy Kadaga as someone that has qualities of a good President and implored the student fraternity to elect Timothy Kadaga as the next Guild President of Uganda Christian University.
When asked how and why Desmond Elliot endorsed him as the perfect candidate for the position, Timothy Kadaga informed our reporter that Desmond Elliot is more like a brother to him and further believes in him and his capabilities to lead the institution to a recognizable level of excellence.
He further informed our reporter that he got to know Desmond Elliot in S.3 while he was at St. Mary’s College Kisubi on a trip to Nigeria and the two have been good friends since then. Recently, the two friends were seen together at the recently concluded 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.
Elections will take place this Friday, 1st November, 2019.
