United we stand and divided we fall has been the whisper amongst students from the two halls of Nkrumah and Nsibirwa as the Dean of Students read to them a letter from the Vice Chancellor that restored hope in their hearts. According to this letter, the University is supposed to immediately disburse funds to sort out the issue ASAP.
The Dean of students said that the Wi-Fi broke down after the Optic Fiber was cut as they landscaped and excavated at a nearby nursery school. The headmaster of the Nursery school had been notified to work this out but was reluctant and since the students can’t wait anymore, the university is going to foot the expenses and sort the technical problem out by midday tomorrow.
“Please create favorable working space for technicians,” concluded the Dean.
The guild president Roy Ssemboga who is well aware of the unfulfilled promises the University has always made to wailing students boldly told the Dean
“we shall come in a different fashion tomorrow if they don’t restore the Internet.”
“We want Makerere to hit the 1st position in Africa not the third. And we can’t do this if we can’t access academic documents or do research using the internet,” said one of the North court students.
A meeting is on going between the Dean of Students, The Guild president and the two hall chairpersons to rule out the irregularities.
The countdown is on now, we’ll keep you posted about if MAK administration is an honest one to students or not.
