In most cases, attempting to do cover songs has backfired for most artistes but what Warafiki trio Tori (Victoria Mbabazi), Eyla (Damalie Nalugwa) and Treezy (Patricia Debra Nakalembe) did last Friday evening was bravery.
The trio at Naava Grey’s sold-out concert performed to perfection not just songs but legendary hits by American artists.
Warafiki Clad in matching red outfits surprised the audience by performing KCI and Jojo’s All My Life, an R&B and Soul song that music critics claimed was the duo’s most successful song of their career before they performed En Vogue’s biggest international single Don’t Let Go that made it to the top 10 in several countries and ranked the 83rd most successful single of the 1990s.

This outstanding performance not only had the audience singing along but giving the singers a standing ovation. They then switched to their original compositions including Ntagala and Tetubafana.
The girls joined Mun G, Joshua Baraka, Kenneth Mugabi and Bruno K as the only supporting acts at Naava’s concert.
