John Mbaziira, the newly elected Kyambogo University Guild President has vowed to do what he was elected to do while speaking at the university’s guild swearing in ceremony that was presided over by Prof Eli Katunguka, the Vice Chancellor.
During the ceremony that was held on Tuesday evening, Mbaziira vowed to work towards the betterment of Kyambogo as well as solving key problems affecting fellow students at the Banda-based university.
“None of us would be here if it wasn’t for the efforts of noble students and these are the common students who understood the cause as to why we stood. We must also acknowledge that we are not here for pleisure or leisure or excitement but rather because of the aspirations of where we hail and where we want to go,” Mbazira vowed.

The newly elected leader also vowed to work with all stakeholders to improve Kyambogo and the nation at large. During his speech, Mbazira thanked the university administration for the improvement of campus premises as well as the setting up of several new buildings which he didn’t find at the university when he had just joined.
Delaying of results, missing marks, harassment of students are the key problems Mbazira prays should be tackled by the university governing body. He also addressed the financial challenges face by students before revealing that the university’s dropout rate is alarming compared to the completion rate.
Mbazira also received office keys and files from the outgoing guild President Tundulu Jonathan, who assured him that all tools are intact in the guild office.
