International University of East Africa (IUEA) in partnership with Reach a Hand Uganda distributed sanitary pads to females in the neighborhood of Kansanga.
In commemoration of Menstrual hygiene day on May 28th, 2022 IUEA community deemed it fit to conduct a community outreach in Sankara zone Kansanga, Makindye division.
The outreach was based on the theme: Making menstruation a normal fact of life by 2030.
Other than distributing pads, HIV testing and screening, menstrual hygiene sessions and family planning sensitization were also on the day’s order paper.
The world Menstrual hygiene day is celebrated internationally with an aim of spreading awareness of the importance of good hygiene during menstruation.
Menstruation hygiene day was started by Wash United in 2013 with the first celebration held the proceeding year on May 28th, 2014.
