Youth Polls: Central Region Rejects Prophet Mbonye’s “Son”

The recently concluded youth elections saw the National Resistance Movement (NRM) sweep all the five slots countrywide. Popular Remnant, who calls himself “prophet Mbonye’s son” Simon Ssenyonga was vying for Central Youth MP seat which he lost.

The Central Youth MP seat was won by Agnes Kirabo, the flag bearer of the ruling National Resistance Movement.

Kirabo was elected Youth MP Central Region

Kirabo, who has previously served as secretary for female affairs and auditor at the NRM Secretariat, polled 780 votes while her closest rival, Ivan Bwowe, garnered 85 votes.

Bwowe is a former Makerere University guild president. He was followed by Micheal Katongole (Ind) 78 votes.

Remnant Simon Ssenyonga(independent) garnered a paltry 49 votes. Other contestants were; Abdel Kareem  Ziritwawula (Ind) nine votes, Javiira Kasumba (FDC) two votes, Alvin Ssemambya( Ind) one vote.
