Delegates to the upcoming 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference will obtain entry visas on arrival in Uganda.
In a statement issued on Monday, 16 September 2019, the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control said it had made provision for issuance of visas on arrival to delegates, who may not have obtained the same in their home countries or via the online platform.
The Director Citizenship and Immigration Control, Johnson Namanya, said that visa issuance will be on arrival at Entebbe International Airport and other ports of entry.
Delegates can also apply and pay online at www.visas.immigration.go.ug for the visa.
“Delegates are required to travel with passports that have at least a six months validity period and those required to pay for visas to have US$50 as visa fees which they will pay on arrival to get their visa stickers endorsed in the passport,” the statement reads.
In the statement, airline operators carrying delegates traveling for the Conference have been informed of the issuance of visas on arrival.
The CPC, which will be held under the theme, “Adaptation, Engagement and Evolution of Parliaments in a Rapidly Changing Commonwealth” is expected to attract over 1,000 delegates from the 53 Commonwealth countries and will be held in Munyonyo from 22 – 29 September 2019.
