Uganda’s Ministry of Health, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and People that Deliver have entered a partnership with ride-hailing app company, Safe Boda to enable easy access of Health Products from Pharmacies and other outlets online.
The partners, under their Safe Campaign Initiative, have promised to enable quick access of Pharmacy Products by app users that will be delivered to them in under 30 minutes.
Dr. Fred Sebisubi, the Commissioner of Pharmacy in the Ministry of Health, promised to ensure safety and control measures of products and handling as they embark on this noble cause.
“This online business will bridge the gap between Pharmacies and Clients, and increase accessibility of products.” De. Sebisubi said.
According to People that Deliver and SafeBoda, the opportunity will empower customers, riders and vendors, helping to build a much needed marketplace that will create a more trustful and efficient supply chain of health products.
‘This partnership has given us an opportunity to empower our community of customers, vendors and SafeBoda by using digital solutions to solve challenges to health care access. Through the Safe Health campaign, we are able to deliver health care products right to our customers’ doorsteps at just a tap of a button.” Shakib Nsubuga, the Safe Boda head of Partnerships and Events said at the launch.
The launch was at the SafeBoda offices in Kyebando.
