You remember how our parents and elders always told and taught us about hygiene and etiquette, how they used to beat us for a simple mistake that was hygiene or etiquette related.
At a very young age, my parents warned me about common mistakes made in public like walking around with a toothpick, talking when my mouth is food-filled and poking my nose in public. This is not just a matter of etiquette but also a matter of character, self respect, and pride.
There is this beautiful girl in my Mass Communication class at Makerere, she resides at Nana Hostels and honestly, she fly as sh*t. She got her curves right just like she got her grades one hunid, the guys flock her like she is a bottle of liquor that everyone can sip on.
I like her, she is my friend and we hang out a lot but I have seen her poke her nose in public three times now and that just kills some cells in my body, I think it’s unthinkable to poke your nose in a restaurant with food on the table but she doesn’t get it.
She has a low self esteem so stepping up to her and telling her about her poor public habits might just shatter her. She is the kind of girl who is climbing out of her introvert box but her public manners will chase men away, me inclusive. What should I do?
