Uganda of late has so many churches, from those situated in swamps, ones being run in makeshifts to the most famous and the booming ‘big’ healing churches. To some, operating a church is a business venture. Some pastors live a wealthy extravagant life at the expense of their poor flock. Makes one wonder why these pastors from different churches never agree or come together to praise and worship and somehow you will hear beef breeding between them.

Nevertheless, let’s take an in-depth view of some of Ug’s most controversial church leaders whose churches are continuously being flocked by multitudes of campusers across universities in the land.

1. Pr. Samuel Kakande of Kakande Ministries

Kakande is known to be one of Uganda’s most celebrated healers. With his only church in the heart of Wandegeya roundabout, his church boast of multitudes of believers. However, all has not been well with his name on social media. Many have accused him of exploiting his subject by selling ‘Holy Rice’ at a fee. Pr.Kakande also gives people holy living water that is believed to have healing powers.

2. Pr. Robert Kayanja

He is the boss of Miracle Centre church in Rubaga and Channel 44 (Miracle TV). Most of his followers are youths and eager converts who are yearning for miracles and healing from their distress. Pr. Kayanja is one of the oldest pastors who have stood the test of time after preaching for over forty years now. However, some people have come out to question his crusades of Madds and Dogs with some citing them as acronyms for evil

3. Prophet Elvis Mbonye.

This one is a prophet and pastor at the same time. Currently he is the most luxurious pastor in town driving the latest cars and posing in fabulous outfits. His church is seen by many as a dwelling place for the rich and wealthy. Recently, he is organizing dinners worth 10 million shillings. He’s the man who claims to have gone to heaven, seen Jesus and came back.

4. Bro. Ronnie Makhabai

Brother Ronnie owns Ark Televison, Christ FM and the renown ETM church in Salaama Munyonyo. He’s one of a kind though no one knows why he calls himself brother not a pastor. His followers are mostly old people who come to seek healing from his church.

5. Pr. Yiga Augustine

He owns ABS Tv and is the chief pastor at Revival Ministries Church Kawaala. He rose to fame after his church started being thronged by curvy succulent Rwandeese bebs whom he has even employed to work on his TV station. Most consider him as a savior while some blame him for his healing ways of touching women.

6. The Phaneero Ministries

This is one of the biggest youth led fellowships in town. Its facilitated by the likes of Apostle Grace Lubega and has thousands of youths and old followers. It is seen as one of the life changing movements in the gospel industry.
