The Management of the Pepsi Uganda University Football League (UFL) has suspended the league for a period of 32 days.
This has been done following President Museveni’s order to close all universities for 32 days. Using its Facebook page, UFL has informed the public that the league has gone into a break because of the safety of its fans and participants until the situation has calmed down.
“To our #PepsiUFL fans, the Pepsi university football league is suspended because of the safety and health of our fans is key. This is in line with the government directive to stop all public gatherings. Action will resume as soon as we are able to be safe,’’ UFL announced.
It is remembered that after the President’s speech yesterday, Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) which is the football governing body in Uganda, issued a statement on its social media platforms indicating the suspension of all FUFA competitions together with its affiliated tournaments, UFL inclusive.
Today Bugema University was supposed to host Nkumba University in a decisive group E match but it has also been postponed till further notice.
