The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) won a Silver Medal at the All Africa University Games (FASU) 2022 held at Kenyatta University (KU) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Esodoit Jimmy, a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) defeated a student of University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Nigeria to reach the finals of Taekwondo.
“Well, I qualified for the finals after defeating a guy from the University of Lagos. In the finals, I lost by 14-18 points in featherweight to my opponent from Kenyatta University, so I scooped a Silver Medal,” Jimmy commented.
The All Africa University Games brings together Africa’s top university athletes to compete for prestigious continental university athlete titles.
The University Sports Tutor Mr. Kebba Haruna is leading the IUIU team at the event.
