The University football league match between Kyambogo University and Bugema University at Bugema grounds on Wednesday October 31 turned violent as fights between the two antagonistic camps occurred.
Bugema University was thumped with an away goal hence allowing Kyambogo University to advance to the University football league final with a 3-0 victory on aggregate.
However, the Bugema University students who were dissatisfied and irritated by this unusual beating, picked up sticks and stones to confront the Banda based boys in physical fights.
Kyambogo University students did not disappoint. They responded with unexplained force which left many nursing wounds sustained from beatings.
Infact, some students were admitted to the Kyambogo Medical Center immediately after returning to Banda.
The Kyambogo University bus which was used as a means of transportation for fans and morale boosters did not survive this chaotic episode. Its emergency window screen was smashed to the ground which further fueled the Kyambogo students to retaliate.
One would describe the occurrence of events as an affair of pelting stones and swaying sticks in order to ascertain the better side off the football pitch.
“I think our opponents are just jealous. We played to our best and I see no reason why they should engage us in irrelevant scuffles,” one Kyambogo student who preferred anonymity commented on the situation
