Banda based Kyambogo University has been drawn with teams that seem weak to block its path to the quarterfinals. The University which took this trophy in 2018, seems to have fallen on smooth ground with it lying in group A with Kabale University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and University of Kisubi.
Draws for the 9th edition of the Pepsi Uganda University league were launched today 4th Feb at Kati Kati, Lugogo. The competition is set to kick off on Friday 7th Feb, 2020 and it is to end in November.
Defending champions Uganda Christian University (UCU) has been drawn in group B with Mbale based Islamic University (IUIU), Kumi University and Kampala International University.
Kyambogo University’s hope for the trophy were deterred by Bugema University last year with a heavily guarded matchs that saw the two sides clash at Bombo grounds where no supporters were allowed to enter the field to boost the teams due to suspected fights from the supporters of the two sides. Bugema won 3:2 on aggregate.
