With just three games left to the end of the first around of the University football league, the league administrators have chopped three points off Makerere University.
This followed its misconduct during their Sunday 3rd April 2016 match with the Gaba-based Kampala University. Makerere’s supporters attacked the referee, Jude Karemeera, accusing him of being biased during the game where KU equalized in the second half around the 80th minute making it a 1-1 draw, causing Makerere, who were the hosts to have a short lived victory.
This incident happened in immediately the referee blow the final whistle. Makerere is now the last in group ‘A’ with a negative point just after MUST, which has no point in its entire first three games with the last ending in a 5-1 loss against KU.
For Makerere to move to the next level, it has to win all its remaining matches. This calls for divine intervention and a lot of prayers because all the teams it’s left to play with like Nkumba are not joking subjects. Makerere will face Nkumba on Sunday at Luzira prison. Keep it here for more updates.
