News coming in from Makerere Games Union indicates a new era of defensive mechanisms.
For students and staff members who wish to elevate their skills in martial arts, there’s an opportunity to enroll for taekwondo sessions at the hill.
This was confirmed by the Sports department in a tweet stating:
“Taekwondo classes kicked off yesterday at @nkrumah_hall led by Master Kim Kwaangjoo, a Dispatch Taekwondo Master. We call upon any students & staff of @Makerere interested to learn to pass by @MakerereSports & register to learn the art of self defense.”
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art involving punching and kicking techniques, with emphasis on head-height kicks, spinning jump kicks, and fast kicking techniques. The literal translation for tae kwon do is “kicking”, “punching”, and “the art or way of.
Hopefully the sport will do more good than harm.
