Ndejje and Nkumba Universities are known to be the champions of university sports in Uganda with both universities producing sports men and women who play for the national team.
The latest news reaching our desk is that a team of Ndejje and Nkumba female university students have been chosen to join the she cranes volleyball team squad to play at the world female volleyball championship qualifiers in Nairobi.
The students have been chosen to represent Uganda at the females’ volleyball tournament after they were voted as one of the best volleyball players in Uganda by the Volleyball Association of Uganda. The students include: –
1. Aanyu Verolyne (Ndejje Univ)
2. Amito Sharon (Ndejje Univ)
3. Alupo Christine (Ndejje Univ)
4. Kaidu Jesca (Ndejje Univ)
5. Tushemerirwe Joan (Ndejje Univ)
6. Akiteng Doreen (Nkumba Univ)
7. Ikilai Cecilia (Nkumba Univ)
8. Nandawula Flavia (Nkumba Univ)
9. Namara Habiba (Nkumba Univ)
Among the team also include, Nyamalo Margaret and Amoding Irene from Vipers Volleybal club and only Busingye Peace from Sporting S club.
The championships are meant to start in mid-august at Kenyatta stadium in Nairobi and it will open up way for preparation for the fourth coming inter university games slated to be hosted by Ndejje University in December this year.
