Nkumba University football team which is also known as “the beach boys’’ on Sunday humiliated Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) in their 4th game of this year’s University football League at their home ground in Nkumba.
Nkumba thumped MUST 4 goals to nil which perhaps forced them to throw in the towel, leaving the game before the referee blew the last air in the whistle at the 90th minute of the game.
MUST, who came in as underdogs have so far played 4 matches all with 0 points. All the teams in group A: KU, Ndejje, UMU, have beaten it 4 goals and above, adding to its legacy as the first team in the League to have played for 5 years without earning a single point any point.
Isaac Otto scored Nkumba’s first goal in the 47th minute, leaving Emmanuel Wasswa to also add on two goals making it 3 and Kibirango Ramathan sealing it off with a beautiful and phenomenal goal that saw Nkumba fans go wild.
Nkumba University extended their unbeaten run to the Nile Special University Football League to 4 matches with a 4-0 victory that dumped and confirmed Mbarara’s exit from this year’s League.
Nkumba is the only team now yet to concede a goal in this campaign. It’s now over for MUST as its next and last game is with Makerere who badly need to win the game in order to increase their chances of going to the next stage. Keep it Campus Bee for more updates.
