The villagers, who were furious, attacked Makerere supporters in protest of what they called excessive abuses from Makerere supporters towards their team, Uganda Martyrs University, at their home ground in Nkozi- during the Nile Special University Football League.
In due course, a piece of wood from Nkozi supporters hit a one Ivan Semakula of team Makerere making him fall to the ground and scream like his dear eye had been removed.
Police together with other players immediately ran to his rescue only to realize that the injury was not really that bad. He was then given first aid and the games resumed.
The match ended in a draw 0-0 even after 3 minutes extra time were granted, with both teams missing all their chances to score.
This gives Makerere two draws in both of its matches, making it 3rd in group A which is now being led by Ndejje with 4 Points followed by Nkumba with 4, Makerere with 2 then Uganda Martyrs with 1 point, Kampala University also with one in the 4th place above MUST who are in the last position with no point at all.
