University of Nairobi and Strathmore University are the next potential winners of this year’s hand ball competition. Both universities may have succumbed to a beating in the recent completed East Africa and Central Africa club Championships but have confirmed that they are still focused and on course for this year’s East African University Regional games.
Uganda Christian University is to host the 2014 East African University games with over 5,000 sportsmen expected to jet in from over 23 universities around East Africa. They’ll converge to compete in over 16 disciplines; football, basketball, rugby, chess, long jump, volleyball, handball, karati, net ball among others.
Most games will be played around the institution’s main sports ground while games like rugby will be played at Namilyango College and swimming competitions will be at Kampala Parents School.
A little twist to the rules this time round; sportsmen awaiting graduation won’t be allowed to compete while only those sportsmen that fit in between the 27 to 29 age bracket or below will be allowed to participate.
