The 2024/2025 Pepsi University Football League (UFL) is set to reach its climactic conclusion this Sunday as St. Lawrence University and Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) prepare to face off.
The match is expected to be a thrilling finale at Wankulukuku Stadium on April 27th, 2025, at 3 PM.
It will be a rematch of the two sides memorable 2022 final where Uganda Martyrs edged St. Lawrence thanks to Sunny Kaija’s decisive goal.
Uganda Martyrs secured their place in the final following a tactical goalless draw against Bugema University, which was enough to advance with a 2-0 aggregate victory.
St. Lawrence, meanwhile, enters the final with revenge on their minds after eliminating Islamic University In Uganda in their semifinal clash.
“This tournament continues to showcase the incredible football talent in Uganda’s universities,” commented UFL Commissioner John Sebuwufu.
“The final represents everything we love about university football—tactical battles, institutional pride, and young talent seeking to make their mark on the national stage.”
For Uganda Martyrs, victory would cement their status as a powerhouse in university football, joining MUBS and Kampala University as the only three-time champions in UFL history.
St. Lawrence, however, views this as their opportunity for redemption and a chance to lift the prestigious trophy for the first time.
