Epic soccer action returns this Saturday with The Nile Special University Football League (UFL) finale at Mandela National Stadium.
The face-off will be between Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi up against Nakawa’s MUBS as the latter seeks to retain the title for the second season running.
The two teams have had an incredible run all the way to the finals. There was a subject matter of debate on the date chosen however, University league organizers insist that they have different fans and they set the date of the final way back in September. The date was agreed upon and will be 7th at the Mandela national stadium said one official from Money Gram the sponsors.
On the same day, Makerere University will be playing up against Ndejje University in the third place playoff before the final match.
UMU outmatched Makerere University when they managed to evict them after a 3-2 on aggregate to reach their first ever final. From the first leg that ended in a 1-1 draw, UMU picked up from there to salvage a 2-1 win in the return leg. The other semi-final had MUBS beat Ndejje 1-0 in the second leg after playing to goalless draw in the first leg in Luweero.
Come Saturday, all roads will lead to Mandela national stadium. Not for nominations or political activity but for either sides to see if the can walk away champions of this year’s University Football League.
