In late 2010, football fans were a bit surprised when learning that FIFA had decided to select two hosts for two FIFA World Cups at the same time. Visit the website so.1xbet.com – best online sports betting can be made on all editions of the World Cup at any time.

At that moment, FIFA decided to select Russia and Qatar as the hosts of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments respectively. However, this was not the first time that the football’s governing body had selected more than one host at the same time. The best online sports betting is available at 1xBet, and this can also be used to wager on who is likely to host a competition of this kind.

In 1966, FIFA chose the organizers for not two but three FIFA World Cups at the same time. Such an occurrence has not been seen again.

Intense negotiations

During the 1960s, FIFA announced that on the 6th of July 1966 they would choose simultaneously the hosts for the 1974, 1978 and 1982 World Cups. It is worth noting that this decision was going to be made five days before the 1966 FIFA World Cup began. Don’t forget to visit 1xBet – play profitable slots before other hosts for this competition are selected.

There were many countries that presented their bids for one or more of those competitions. Some of them were:

  • Argentina;
  • and Colombia.

Prior to the decision, all participating nations engaged in intense negotiations in order to get the best possible deal for themselves. Speaking about great deals, you can play profitable slots at the 1xBet platform while waiting for the FIFA World Cup.

The outcome becomes apparent

The negotiation process was slowly but surely being narrowed down. For example, for the 1974 FIFA World Cup, both West Germany and Spain remained as finalists. Here a compromise was reached. The West Germans would get the 1974 tournament, and in exchange, the 1982 tournament would be given to Spain. Whenever another FIFA World Cup is played, visit the http://so.1xbet.com/line/football website and make your best wagers on these great competitions.

Now it was necessary to choose the organizer for the 1978 tournament. The finalists were Argentina, Colombia and Mexico. The Mexicans were almost immediately discarded because they already had the 1970 FIFA World Cup. Finally, the tournament was awarded to Argentina.

It is worth noting that Colombia was chosen as the original host of the 1986 FIFA World Cup. However, due to internal problems they were forced to resign from their candidacy, which was ultimately awarded to Mexico. All editions of the FIFA World Cup can be wagered by all punters through the 1xBet platform.
