FT: YMCA 1-0 MUBS (Mulinde Reagan OG 60”)
YMCA today Tuesday beat Makerere University Business School 1-0 at Buwambo in the Pepsi Uganda University Football League to leave the two time champions in third place on the Group C.
Although the lone goal of the game was an own goal, it was perhaps a deserved victory for YMCA against an under par MUBS.
The Buwambo based side had greater possession of the ball for most of the game and seemed to be more hungry for the win. MUBS did display some spirit later in the game hitting the bar off a free kick in the 80th minute but it was too little too late.
Matters were probably but not helped by the heavy rain that fell before and during spells of the game that caused the playing ground to become slippery and wet but the weather conditions affected both teams.
With 4 matches yet to be played, it is definitely too early to write off MUBS and chances are high they will return to the drawing board and return stronger.
YMCA will on the other hand with no doubt have been boosted by this win ahead of Sunday’s away game against a high flying Kyambogo University.
