Uganda Christian University (UCU) has come up with an initiative to support financially challenged students.
“For Just 10K, change a life” campaign was launched earlier this week aiming at raising UGX 1 billion to meet needs of 74 students.
The campaign is mainly aiming at raising tuition assistance for clergy, children of clergy, and other financially disadvantaged students.
As part of this effort, reflective jackets have been donated to boda boda riders around Mukono.
UCU management came up with a noble mode that will tackle a social issue of road safety as well as publicize the initiative.
The proactive approach will ensure that cyclists are visible and safe on the road by distributing high-visibility reflector jackets made from durable materials.
The cyclists will stand out in low-light conditions, making them easily noticeable to drivers and other road users while they carry with them “For Just 10K, change a life” message.
There are various ways one could contribute towards the campaign, including mobile money or bank transfer.
