My name is Mukisa Joshua, a student at UCU – Mukono, I am a muganda of the Nkima clan having been born by Mr. Kibalama Daniel.
Problem is, I am falling in love with one of my course mates who also happens to be of the same clan. Last week I asked her if she could love a person of the same clan if they weren’t from the same parents and she said that’s very okay and that she doesn’t believe in culture. She asked me why I had to come up with such a question and I told her it’s something I just thought of. She doesn’t know that am her clans mate and I really have plans of marrying her. Advise me…
Hey Joshua, I know falling in love is a hard feat, somewhat a life achievement, but don’t be fooled by it. We must respect our cultures regardless of what our opinions on culture are, these are things that have been there before even the sperm that created you was able to swim.
Even the bible always reminds us never to remove the boundaries that our ancestors set. I advise you to pull out now, do whatever it takes not to fall with this Nkima girl because tomorrow you will be no more and no one will forget your act of blasphemy.
