We’ve all ever fallen for that mysterious guy only to get heartbroken moments after- because the one yourself chose to ‘double the fun’ couldn’t do it with you alone. But have we ever sat down to wonder why campus guys actually do this anyway?
They’ve always come up with these basic excuses like ‘it was a mistake’, ‘Satan tempted me’ etc etc but hold your breath Sister, or friend or anyone who cares to read this. We talked to a number of guys and the reasons we got will shock you. Here are a few that topped the list:
1. Nature
“I personally have never had one girlfriend. At least I get a jerrycan and call it my second girlfriend ” – Syza (not real name) lamented to our writer.
This shows you how guys on campus are really determined to make it rain on you poor souls, it’s a part of life to them and not even your faithfulness will stop them from cheating on you, So why not double the fun too? (Kidding, stay faithful to your man).
2. We are simply bored
Kevin, a business administration student at Makerere gave us a pretty basic reason why dudes go astray
“Guys cheat because they get bored,” he says. “Guys are adventurous by the way, and we like new material.”
Moses from MUBS, echoes the same sentiments. “At times you find yourself bored, bae is not online so what do you do? You get someone and tell her the words you were supposed to tell her. Chic bambi in your trap hahaa”
Well, I can’t say much on this anyway since boredom is subjective. My only advice to the girls would be, a little spice in the relationship won’t hurt. Although if he gets bored, he wasn’t worth it anyway. Woman up and move on, you are a queen to be half loved.
3. Distance
Benjamin, a second-year Economics student at the hill of the learned lamented about how distance sometimes messes up things.
‘Mbu’ expenses become mob like transport and temptations also come in handy yet bae is far.
“Now like If I have a babe at UCU and I am in Makerere… ”
Well, Benja what took you to fall for a UCU babe in the first place? You knew it would be worth it right? Then handle her this way don’t cheat on the little soul this way.
4. Peer Influence
This one has appeared in almost all of my talks with these horny dudes, that they are forced to think that is the trend since most of the friends do cheat
“Most of my friends have more than one girl why would I settle with one? Besides am a class president which implies more invitations to treat.” Marley, a course leader in on of the business administration classes at MUBS postulated to this website
As if they first had a chat somewhere, Raymond from Kyambogo also replied to me in the same lines..
“The invitations to treat are so many here. Only a blind man could settle for one. We are still young and so must enjoy ourselves while we still can.”
Ehhmm. I will reserve my comment on this one.
5. The High Libido!
Thanks to the so many soap operas and romantic films, campus guys can now stimulate their feelings at just a click. To give chance to the ladies, Hawa from Mukono-based UCU says there is a stupid natural desire for sex that forces their boyfriends into this kind of cheating.
“The horn we get naturally is overwhelming….sometimes when you need to kill it, your better half isn’t there for you…so we gotta find a way,” Lule says.
Lot’s of opinions from the campus guys that haven’t made this list but for whichever reason, cheating hurts. No matter the reason. It’s good to have a little insight as to why someone had to cheat anyway just to help you prevent being cheated on in your future relationships.
