After a long period of impatience and hopeless waiting by Kyambogo University students, the roadmap to this year’s elections is out.
The Electoral Commission has been put in place, something the students had been pushing for quite a long time. Despite the fact that at last there is hope for this year’s elections to happen soon, this comes at the time when most of the students are stressed with tests as they prepare for exams in less than three weeks.
Everyone now seems to be lamenting about the delayed elections and one might wonder if the students will fully participate both in the campaign rallies and elections like they used to when they neither had examinations nor tests.
The roadmap of the elections shows that the process of choosing new leaders began as early as yesterday, 27th February when the members of the electoral commission were sworn in and today, picking of nomination forms begins.
The entire process is expected to end on 10th March with the election of Hall chairpersons and hall GRCs as the faculty GRCs and Guild President will have been elected on 9th March.
