The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has secured the coveted position of Guild President at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) for the first time since its establishment in 2007. AMANYA MOSES, the NRM candidate, has clinched victory in a closely contested election, marking a significant shift in the political landscape of the prestigious institution.
AMANYA MOSES emerged as the frontrunner with a resounding 1685 votes, showcasing a strong mandate from the student body. This victory comes after several unsuccessful attempts by the NRM to secure the guild presidency over the years, making this win a momentous occasion for the party.
The race was fiercely competitive, with two other candidates vying for the coveted position. Steward Chopre, representing the National Unity Platform (NUP), garnered 1268 votes, while Luswata Benedict of the Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) trailed behind.
The atmosphere on campus was electrifying as students eagerly awaited the results, reflecting the intense anticipation surrounding this pivotal election.
AMANYA MOSES’ victory signals a new chapter in the MUBS student leadership, promising fresh perspectives and initiatives under the NRM banner. We congratulate him!
