Profile: Simon Ssenyonga, the calm intelligent MAK guild presidential aspirant

Calm intelligent eyes gaze over the horizon. A wrist watch rests upon his left wrist, he flicks his jacket sleeves slightly and quickly gazes upon the glass watch screen. Neat polished shoes cover his feet. He’s been described as a fine fellow with an old head on young shoulders. His name is Simon. Simon Ssenyonga.

He’s endeared hearts with his elitist approach, remarkable ease of articulation and crisp eloquence. Born on 6th DEC 1993, a last born of two boys, born to Margaret Nassali and John Ssengonzi. He hails from Wakiso district; Busiro South Constituency.

Education

He attended City Parents School, Sir Apollo Kaggwa P/S for his primary education. He later joined Seeta High School main campus, and later Naalya SSS Namugongo. He currently is a student at Makerere law school in 3rd year.

Leadership

Ssenyonga was the Headboy at Seeta high School. He joined Naalya and vied for the highest political position of Headprefect in the largely populated school. Simon serves on the Justice and constitutional affairs ministry of the Makerere Private students association. He is an astute debator who has led the Makerere legal moots team to victory in Arusha Tanzania, in a continental moot competition where Makerere university was the best team.

He’s a Rotaractor; Makerere Rotaract Club, Class Representative Makerere law school fellowship, and a Legal advisor, Royal life Ministries inc.

Simoni is the Vice President MAk law moots Association, treasurer, Hope Initiative club, Muk, Director public speech-muk debate union. Simon seats on the elders committee of Northcote hall. He also is a legal advisor of the largest student tribal community; the Baganda Nkobazambogo.

His favourite book is the bestselling book of all time; The Bible. Simon emphasises the fact that he is a born again christian who prays at Royal Life Church.

Music

His genre of music is soul. “Soul music is nerve calming, it soothes the spirits. I’m also a big fan of deep traditional music,” Simon says.

Christ. Jesus Christ is one man I endeavour to emulate.
