Ugandan music stars Cindy Sanyu and Fik Fameica were confirmed as the headline performers for the Tusker Lite Neon Rave scheduled to close the fifth Mt Rwenzori Marathon in Kasese.
The post-race celebration was set for August 22, giving participants and fans an entertainment experience after taking on the marathon’s demanding routes around the Rwenzori region.
Tusker Lite Brand Manager Sandra Againe said the organisers wanted the fifth edition to feel like a milestone throughout the entire race weekend.
Fik Fameica had earlier appeared at the official unveiling of the marathon’s 2026 kit at the Uganda Breweries Limited headquarters in Luzira. During the launch, he previewed what fans could expect in Kasese with a performance of his popular song “Siaka.”
Cindy, widely known as the “King Herself,” was returning to the Neon Rave after appearing at the 2023 edition.
Her return followed another international achievement: being named Reggae Artist of the Year at South Africa’s Basadi Music Awards.
The singer was expected to perform songs from a catalogue that includes “See You Tonight,” “Like You,” “Stay” and “Nayise Naye.”
Kasese-based performers were also expected to share the stage with the two headliners, allowing emerging and established local artists to participate in the fifth-anniversary programme.
The entertainment line-up additionally included DJ Bugy, AfroKing DVD, Dance Mamweta, Adele Kiele and Saint Trevor.
Over its five editions, the Mt Rwenzori Marathon has increasingly brought together sport, tourism, music, adventure and community participation. Organisers positioned the Neon Rave as the final part of that wider destination experience.
Registration for the race also guaranteed participants entry to the Neon Rave. At the time, registration cost UGX60,000 for citizens and residents of the East African Community and $60 for international runners.
