A one George W Ssewamala is in a joyous mood after Makerere University refunded him money that he paid in excess for tuition.
Posting on his twitter account a day ago, Mr Ssewamala revealed that he had paid excess money for tuition way back in 2014, something that left Netizens wowed. In a shared transaction, the ex-student was wired UGX 1.2 Million.
The Makerere university fees policy provides that a student who pays more than the required fees amount is entitled to get a refund:
“Students, who pay more than the University’s tuition and other fees requirement, shall be refunded the sum paid beyond the University statutory fee requirements to”
- the student or sponsor upon completion of programme of study
- by special permission of the Vice Chancellor upon proof of excess payment
- or rolled forward depending on the circumstances “
