Former President of the Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA), Jothan Yamurebire Burobuto has declared that he will be running for President of Uganda in 2021.
Burobuto, who is also a former Guild Speaker of Makerere, Ag Guild President and President of the Makerere Law Society (MLS) has confirmed to Campus Bee that he will be battling President Museveni, Bobi Wine and Mugisha Muntu among others for the top seat come next year.
He met President Museveni, Bobi Wine, Mugisha Muntu and Dr. Kizza Besigye among others. Dr. Besigye has however withdrawn and declared that he won’t be competiting.
Jothan Yamureebire Burobuto was born in Bushenyi district. He went to St. Peter’s Primary School, Nsambya where he scored aggregate 6. From primary, he went to Ntare School in Mbarara where he served as Junior House Captain of Aggrey House and scored aggregate 12 in 8 at UCE.
At Uganda Martyrs Namugongo, for A-level, he offered History, Economics, Literature and Divinity (HEL/D) even when his parents wanted him to offer sciences.
At Makerere University, he was Law School GRC in first year, Makerere Law Society (MLS) President, Guild Speaker, Ag. Guild President and Guild Prime Minister. He has since completed his degree and is a candidate for the bar course (Kampala Campus).
“Fellow Ugandans, I would like to take this opportunity to declare my aspiration to run for Presidency of the Republic of Uganda. Join us, #LetUsBeConcerned.” He declared.
Efforts to reach out to him for a statement more than that were futile as his known numbers were busy all through but we shall get him.
