The education journey is quite uneasy hence the deserved celebrations witnessed at the end of every student’s battle to complete. By precedence, a celebration is inevitable to many to mark the milestone. Over 12,000 Makerere University students collected awards like Doctorates, Masters, Diplomas and Bachelors have experienced the blissful feeling since Monday 17th till today’s last day of graduation.
Makerere University’s 71st Graduation that has come to an end today was headlined by a graduand who proposed to his girlfriend as he attained his degree award – double celebration.
The gentleman who pleaded for anonymity relentlessly proposed to his girlfriend moments before cake cutting whilst in the gown. Uncontrollable tears of joy ran down the couple’s faces after she said yes!
The aftermath of the proposal set the party attendants on a blaze of unmatched joy since there were more toasts to make, a graduation and proposal; with the latter coming as a surprise.
