Getting starstruck is very normal, especially if the person in question is a very ardent fan of the celeb. Naturally, attention directed to female celebs is usually from their male fans, and that to males from females. You will agree with me that Nigerian Sensational Afro-Pop star, Wizkid is one of the biggest names(if not the biggest) on the continent now; representing Africa on the international scene.
This has always translated to very emotional moments from his fans at shows and other meetups. Laura Karungi aka Ainebintu, a student of Ethics and Human Rights at Makerere University, did more than the ordinary long stage invasions and long unsolicited hugs – she publicly offered her womb.
It all started with a video Laura tweeted, of her and other beautiful Ugandan girls, parading placards for the Nigerian Singer at Entebbe Airport, as part of the entourage that welcomed him for his Kampala show. The tweet went thus,
I don’t know how my goals shifted from giving the president flowers to parading matako for @wizkidayo … Nkuze bambi pic.twitter.com/LFDUtrDg9y

Suddenly, Starboy quoted the well-endowed girl’s naughty tweet, setting the internet on fire with his reply,
In a chat I had with Laura, she confided in me that Wiz Kid replied to her tweet in her presence,
“Yeah for like ten minutes(the time they met for), since there were so many artists and managers trying to get to him, but I said wassup and we talked a bit but that was it.” Said the thick young lady. But of course I was concerned with the naughty Luganda words in her tweet and had to ask whether she thinks Wizkid actually understood it entirely,
“He knows because he’s naughty I guess. Haha! But I told him, since I wrote the tweet while he saw. So yeah!”
But just when we thought the moment had ended, Miss Ainebintu, who truly has the ‘bintu’ sent a fire reply to Wizzy Boy,
U’re doing good baby https://t.co/w7hvKpXGpI

Now this was the cause of real havoc, setting the whole digital space into a Wiz-Bintu frenzy. But when I asked her if she meant the whole child-birthing promise, she retorted.
“Haha yooo I don’t know if I meant it… but I think if he brought out contracts, gave me a lot of cash and we had a mutual agreement, my womb would be maaadd ready. I’m sure he would want only the finest.”
Laura then made it clear to me that if she ever had to have a relationship with Wizkid, then it would mainly be about the love, the fame and fortune would come later. She then told me about what she does besides campus.
“I’m an artiste. My first track is coming out on 15th of January, talking about dance and what not.
But for now I’m dealing with Kigambo Hub on 16th December where I’ll be giving a snippet off my new song and a few more fire covers. Also I’m part of Chop House Studio where we do haircuts and tattoos.”
Isn’t it amazing how artistes have a thing for artistes? But I personally – and any other normal guy – will definitely have a thing for Ainebintu’s music; for all the right reasons.
