Denzel Myiyeretsi, the XFM show host of the Xzit program, has been in our faces before. A photographer came out to disclose what she termed as very rapey behavior whenever she was around the radio show host.
After the recent wave on Ugandan Twitter, where so many brave girls finally came out about their harassers after a long time of hiding the shame that comes with the act of rape, Denzel’s name has popped up again. This time with girls as young as 17 making very disgusting sexual assault claims on the show host.
The girl that first brought back the Denzel assault claims couldn’t even reveal her own name. Rape is a very demeaning act and victims cannot be seen the same again, especially by our judgmental and stigmatized Ugandan illiterate population. Thererefore, she used a friend (Pearl Elisabeth Kitimbo) to out her story. And boy did the girls multiply!
“A friend of mine told me a story about Denzel when we were in Year 1. These two friends went out with Denzel and of course they had a number of drinks; too drunk to return to Mukono. Denzel offered his place, next thing one of the girls remembered was waking up in Denzel’s bed naked!” a one Jackie R Nanyonjo Mayega tweeted in support of the claims.
The allegations against Denzel keep coming up hour by hour. Girls as young as 16 and in S.6 at that time, say Denzel has trapped them into going into his home, locks them inside and forcefully has sex with them. Needless to say, without protection.
There has not been any response from Denzel about the claims and our calls on his known contact about the matter have gone unanswered.
