Our snoops have obtained images showing an alleged covid-19 patient being airlifted from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) sports ground. The rare shots have since stirred controversy over social media.
According to our sources at the Ankole based campus, the incident happened today at around mid-day which attracted of attention and left residents and some students (still around)
“I was returning back to my hostel when I heard a very strong sound of a chopper which landed at the sports pitch. In no time, I saw medics dressed heavily in protective gear” said one of the students we talked to.
The University, through its social media handles came out to quash various media reports which had predicted that the patient in question, was the Vice Chancellor – Prof Celestino Obua.
By press time, Campus Bee could assert that the Vice Chancellor was not the patient in question. This event comes a few days after another helicopter was witnessed airlifting patients in severe condition from the Kyambogo University West-end pitch.
The resurgence of Covid-19 hit hard institutions of learning which led to the 42 day – closure. To mention, a number of universities were in the process of completing semester exams, forcing the institutions to suspend the exams.
