The Academic Registrar, Makerere University, Prof. Alfred Masikye Namoah, has invited applications from eligible Ugandans for Government sponsorship for 2022/2023 Academic Year to Universities and all Government Tertiary Institutions.
These universities include Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Busitema University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Gulu University, Muni University, Kabale University, Busitema University, and Lira University.
The qualifying applicants should therefore possess the following requirements to be given the sponsorship.
At least two Principal passes at Advanced Level (UACE) or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting and at least five passes at Ordinary Level (UCE) or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting.
Candidates suitable for this grant are only those who sat A ‘Level in 2020, 2019 and 2018.
Application started on Monday, July 11, 2022 and are available online using the ACIMIS system upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of Ug. Shs. 52,000 per person.
The slots are for Ugandans only and thus non-nationals are discouraged to apply.
HOW TO APPLY
1. Applications can be online using the ACIMIS system after getting an ACIMIS system generated pay reference number on URL https://admissions.mak.ac.ug and follow the steps.
Fill the application form indicating choices for National Merit, District Quota and Tertiary Institutions among other things. Attach copies of your UCE and UACE or equivalent academic documents to the application form. Obtain a payment reference number (PRN) from https://pay.mak.ac.ug (select PUJAB/JAB).
Make a payment at any of the Banks used by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) .
Attach copies of the payment receipt, UNEB ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level results slips to the application form.
Submit the hard copy form to the Academic Registrar, Makerere University, Senate Building, Level three (Admissions Office).
The closing date for returning the filled application forms and the required attachments is Friday 5th August, 2022.
The students already admitted and registered on government sponsored programmes from all Public Universities and Tertiary Institutions MUST not apply for government sponsorship.
The Universities shall not be liable for errors made by applicants in their applications.
