Lira University has announced its graduation list for the upcoming 6th convocation ceremony.
The momentous event is set to take place on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at the institution’s Main Campus.
President Yoweri Museveni is expected to preside over the ceremony as Chief Guest, following an invitation from Vice Chancellor Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng.
This year’s ceremony will be held under the theme “Enlightening Futures: Empowering Minds, Transforming Communities.”
The graduation list reveals that 581 students will receive degrees and Post-Graduate Diplomas across various academic programs.
The graduating class will comprise 338 males (58.2%) and 243 females (41.8%).
Several high-profile guests are expected to attend the event, including the First Lady and Minister of Education, Mrs. Janet Museveni, Health Minister Hon. Jane Ruth Aceng, and Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Services, Hon. Betty Amongi.
Other notable attendees will include the Government Chief Whip, Hon. Hampson Obua, Vice Chancellors from other universities, and Members of Parliament from the Lango sub-region.
In keeping with the university’s tradition, graduates will receive their academic documents, including transcripts and certificates, on the graduation day, enabling them to immediately begin their job search.
This practice has been maintained since the university’s establishment in 2016.
