Makerere University Directorate for Information and Communication Technology Support (DICTS) has provided prospective graduands with an option for payment of their graduation fees ahead of the 72nd graduation ceremony slated for May.
According to the information issued by DICTS on Tuesday, students can generate the Payment Registration Numbers (PRN) using the option of ‘depositing using the future use option.’
“For all intending to graduate this year, the system has no option for generating a PRN for paying graduation fees. Please use the option of future use option,” the notice reads in part.
Money will be recorded on the system and later allocated to graduation fees.
“Go to get PRN, use future use option, type the amount and generate PRN. The money will be recorded on the system,” notice added.
Ugandan students are to pay shs.110,000 whereas international students will have to pay USD.130 for graduation.
Makerere University students have found struggles to pay their tuition fees since the last academic year (2020/2021) when the system was interrupted and were allowed to sit for the examinations without paying for the money.
This however has been resolved and every student is required to first clear the university tuition and functional fees to sit for the first semester examinations due to commence April 25,2022 next week on Monday.
The 72nd Makerere University graduation ceremony will run for five days starting Monday May 23 to Friday May 27.
