Makerere University has officially released the detailed programme for its 76th Graduation Ceremony, scheduled to take place from Tuesday 24th February to Friday 27th February 2026 at the Freedom Square, with proceedings starting at 8:30am each day.
According to a notice from the Office of the Academic Registrar, Prof. Buyinza Mukadasi, the four-day ceremony will see graduands from different colleges confer degrees on designated days, in line with the university’s long-standing tradition of organizing graduations by academic units.
The graduation ceremonies will begin on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, with students from the School of Law (SoL), College of Education and External Studies (CEES), College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS), and the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) taking center stage.
On Wednesday, 25th February 2026, graduands from the College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS), College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-Security (CoVAB), and the College of Health Sciences (CHS) will be awarded their degrees.
The ceremony will continue on Thursday, 26th February 2026, featuring graduands from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and the College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS).

The final day, Friday, 27th February 2026, will see graduations for students from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS) and the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT), bringing the 76th graduation celebrations to a close.
University management has advised graduands, parents, guardians, and invited guests to await further communication on graduation schedules, standard operating procedures, and guidelines to ensure a smooth and orderly ceremony.
