Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) celebrated its 30th graduation ceremony at its main campus in Nkozi.
Over 1,000 students graduated, receiving degrees and various academic qualifications in different disciplines.
The event, themed “Celebrating our Heritage and Positioning Uganda Martyrs University in the 21st Century,” began with a thanksgiving mass.
UMU’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Kyamanywa, emphasized the importance of ethical values in education, urging graduates to stand for justice and integrity, especially in combating societal issues like racism, tribalism, and gender-based violence.
Prof. Kyamanywa also highlighted UMU’s deliberate effort to cultivate responsible, ethical graduates who will positively impact their communities and inspire others.
UMU, founded in 1993 by the Uganda Episcopal Conference, continues to uphold its commitment to offering holistic education grounded in Catholic traditions while adapting to modern challenges.
