According to communication released by the Makerere University academic registrar, Alfred Masikye Namoa, a total of 861 students who sat for Makerere University pre-entry exams for Bachelor of Laws in the 2020/2021 academic year have failed to attain the set pass mark.
As a condition set for one to join the mentioned course, he or she is to supposed attain 50% score.
However, only 305 students of 1,166 who sat for the exams attained the pass mark, meaning only 26% of students who sat the exams qualify to be admitted to bachelor of law.
The 73% who failed to attain the pass mark will be disqualified but that doesn’t mean those who passed will automatically be admitted.
“The candidates who scored 50 per cent and above passed the examinations and have been recommended by the pre-entry and mature age committee to the university admission committee for consideration,” Masikye said.
The best student is Alice Namale Grace from Mengo Senior School who scored 76 followed by Annie Maria Adkini from St Mary’s College Namagunga who scored 71.
Masikye further advised those who are not satisfied with their results to appeal within two weeks from the release date of results.
