Reality hit Law Development Centre (LDC) yesterday when the Institution’s Director – Mr. Frank Nigel Othembi told students in an email addresses to staff, student leaders and the entire students body that the Centre would not be opening anytime soon.
This followed the Presidential Address where H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni boldly stated that it would be so risky to reopen Academic Institutions during the COVID-19 Pandemic because these happen to be areas of High Concentration in terms of people.
In this email, Mr. Frank Nigel Othembi advised as follows; firstly, that the physical closure of LDC shall continue, the suspension of all lectures and academic activities shall continue, working from home and use of I.C.T. for online meetings and other activities shall continue and finally that students would be guided appropriately when the 14 day extension ends.
This email attracted several reactions from the student community as a one Tumuramye John in a Facebook post inquired whether LDC is working on an alternative strategy or not.
We at Campus Bee shall keep you posted about any developments on this story.
